Euphonious '09 is coming soon!! Just to remind u guys:
The preliminaries will be on 3rd of April (Friday) and 4th of April (Saturday), and the Grand Finale will be on 10th of April (Friday).
This time, 20 bands will be competing each other to grab the RM 1000.00 1st prize!! Come to our voting session to supprort your favourite band:
Date : 4th April 2009 (Saturday)
Time : 5pm - 7pm
Venue : Main Hall
Please don't forget to bring your Matrix card along.

Good day! Today we have more updates on Band Practice, not from me, but from our Reg Com Dept. Here we go:
BAND PRACTICE:
Rules and Regulation - Please handle the instruments with care. You will be responsible for any damages.
- Wear proper attire and smoking is prohibited.
- Food and beverages are NOT allowed in the orchestra room
- Instruments are not to be taken out of the Orchestra room
- Please make sure that there’s a person in charge from Registration department. If not please contact our committee(s) (please refer to contact list below). You are prohibited to enter the room without supervision.
- Please leave at least 10 minutes before your session ends to allow the next band to come and prepare.
- Please sign your attendance after your session ends for our record.

Hello everyone! It seems that there was some confusion over there. Sorry for the delay in answering your questions but I was unable to sign in for many days due to the internet problem this few days. =.="
So now, answers to those confusions:
Firstly the date, time and venue for our event:

p/s: Actually these information were posted in our earlier post already, the second post i think... Under the title "Introduction". umm... nothing actually... well, just telling. =.="
Next, the "member" and "nonmember" thingy:
The membership here refers to our ICC member. So for those ICC members, you can get our ticket at RM4 ONLY!! So be sure to bring your member card to our booth, either at Pocket D or USM cafe to get the special price.
And.. Last thing. For your information, this time, our Euphonious is gonna donate 10% of our Ticket Sales to the MALAYSIAN AIDS FOUNDATION. SO... BE A PART OF IT!!! :D

| Early Steps of a GREAT Band |

1.Desire
Do you have the desire to perform? If your answer is yes, you are almost there. If you can play some instruments fairly well, then its time you start your band.
2.Recruit
Get people who can play instruments that complement yours. Basically, a band needs guitarist, drummers and keyboardist.
3.Unplugged
Get to know each other well socially, and then try some songs to see how it goes. Try coordinating sounds between members.
4.Practice
Find a suitable place, get some instruments(microphone, amps) if u have the money and start your practice.Rehearsals should be no less than three hours in length; practice "cover" songs (ie, songs by other artists) but save the last hour of the practice for self-compositions if you have any. Feel free to formulate your band name. The best names will be one that suits everyone.. sorta like a symbol ^^
5.Blast through
When practicing, start a song confidently. You have about thirty seconds to get the audience to "wake up and take notice." Don't be tentative or hesitant to begin a song in rehearsal; even if it's kind of harsh at the beginning, you'll have time to "fine-tune" it as you practice it again and again. Practice makes perfect. Add in your own creative way of playing the songs.. something different could give a huge impact sometimes.
Well, mostly its up to you to get your band up and working. If u feel inspired, do not hesitate and get your band NOW..
As to the question what makes a great performance...
- Good interaction with the crowds
- ENERGY and CHARISMA
- A few deep cuts to make things unpredictable (no one likes listening to the same duplicate copy of a previous performance especially for long time fans
Most importantly just ENJOY it, the music, the atmosphere and the experience.. |

Hey everyone! This is our t-shirt design for this year's Euphonious 09'. The slight tint of red symbolizes the red and white theme we have this year. The background is inspired by the theme "Fusion Through Music". The design of the T-shirt is still open for comments so please do give your thoughts on the design... ^^
